Cookie Notice

Last updated October 2026

This Cookie Notice explains the cookies and similar browser storage that PlayHouse (playhouse.fans), operated by Vallara, Inc., uses, and the choices you have. It should be read with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data.

We use the following types of cookies and storage on PlayHouse:

  • Essential cookies and storage, which PlayHouse needs to work: for example, to sign you in and keep your session secure, to remember your language and currency, to remember your cookie choice, and to protect PlayHouse against bots and fraud.
  • Functional storage, which makes features you use work as you expect, such as your recent searches.
  • Analytics cookies and storage, which we use only if you choose Accept.

We do not use advertising cookies or any cross-site tracking, and we do not sell personal data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

1. What cookies and browser storage are

1.1 A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser so that it can recognize your browser or remember information about it. Local storage and session storage are similar features that let a website keep information in your browser.

1.2 Session cookies and session storage are cleared when you close your browser or tab. Persistent cookies and local storage stay for a set time, or until you clear them.

1.3 "First-party" cookies are set by PlayHouse. "Third-party" cookies are set by another company whose service runs on our pages, such as our payment processor or our security providers.

2. How the analytics choice works

2.1 Every visitor is asked whether to allow analytics cookies, with two buttons: Accept and Decline. There is one optional category: analytics. Everything else described in this notice is needed for PlayHouse to work, or runs only when you use the feature it supports.

2.2 Until you choose, and if you choose Decline: nothing is stored in your browser for analytics. We still count visits anonymously and without cookies: page views (the address path only), interactions with all text masked, heatmaps, clicks that don't respond, errors and product events. These are counted in a way that cannot recognize you from one day to the next. No session replay runs, and nothing is linked to your account.

2.3 If you choose Accept: our analytics provider, which hosts our analytics data in the European Union, stores an identifier in a cookie and in local storage so that visits from the same browser can be connected, and session replay may run. Replay masks all text and everything you type, blocks images, video, audio and embedded content, records no network data, and never runs on sign-in, verification, messages and chat, email verification or account deletion pages. PlayHouse never links browser analytics to your account. See section 10 of our Privacy Policy.

2.4 Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track: if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as Decline and you won't be asked.

2.5 Your choice is saved in your browser, so that we don't ask you again on every page. It applies only to the browser and device where you made it. You can change it at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page (see section 8).

3. Essential cookies

These first-party cookies are strictly necessary to sign you in, keep your session secure and remember the basic settings of your session. PlayHouse can't work properly without them, so they don't need your consent.

TypePurposeLifetime
Sign-in and session cookiesKeep you signed in and your session secure, remember your account type, language and currency, and connect you to live updates such as new messagesYour sign-in session, plus 7 days
Agency cookies (Agency team members only)Remember your Agency and your role in itYour sign-in session, plus 7 days
Agency working cookies (Agency team members only)Remember which linked Creator's account you are working in12 hours
Sign-in progress cookieKeep track of a sign-in that is in progress15 minutes
Session recovery cookieNote that renewing your session failed, so the site can recover without a loop2 minutes

Blocking or clearing these cookies will sign you out, and some parts of PlayHouse won't work.

4. Functional browser storage

PlayHouse uses local storage, session storage and a cache of the site's files to make features work as you expect. This information stays in your browser and is used only for the feature it belongs to.

TypePurposeLifetime
Feature settings and progressRemember your recent searches, a top-up, tip or withdrawal you have started, prompts you have dismissed (such as turning on push notifications or adding PlayHouse to your home screen), how you set up the post composer, and that you have completed identity verificationUntil you clear it, or until you close the tab for items in session storage

Site file cacheKeep copies of the site's static files (such as code, styles and icons) so pages load faster30 days

5. Analytics cookies and storage (only after Accept)

TypeProviderPurposeLifetime
Analytics cookie and local storageOur analytics provider (data hosted in the European Union)Store an identifier so that visits from the same browser can be connected, and allow session replayUp to 365 days

Session replays are kept for 30 days. IP addresses are discarded, and every event is cleaned before it is sent: query strings are removed, and email addresses, tokens and secrets are redacted.

6. Third-party security, payment and verification cookies

These providers run on PlayHouse only when you use the feature they support or when our security protections are triggered. They may set their own cookies or use browser storage, under their own privacy policies. They are needed for security, sign-in, payments or verification, so they are not covered by the analytics choice.

TypePurposeLifetime
Payment processor cookiesOur payment processor's card form loads only when you add a card, and the processor may set cookies to prevent fraudSet by the provider
Bot-check cookiesA bot check when you sign in or sign up; our security provider may set cookies for the checkSet by the provider

7. What we don't use

  • No advertising, retargeting or social media tracking cookies or pixels, and no cross-site tracking.
  • No cookie for sensitive content: your sensitive-content setting is saved on your account, not in your browser.

8. Changing your choice and managing cookies

8.1 To change your analytics choice, select Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. This opens the choice again so you can Accept or Decline. If you change from Accept to Decline, we stop using analytics cookies and storage in that browser.

8.2 You can also set your browser to block or delete cookies, or to send a Global Privacy Control signal (which we treat as Decline). The "Help" or "Settings" section of your browser explains how. If you block essential cookies, you won't be able to sign in, and some parts of PlayHouse won't work.

9. Updates and contact

We will update this notice when the cookies and storage we use change, and change the "Last updated" date below. If you have questions about cookies or this notice, contact us through our legal request form and choose "Privacy or data".
