PlayHouse and StopNCII.org: protecting intimate images

PlayHouse is a StopNCII.org partner. Every upload is checked against its hashes, so images shared without consent are stopped before they go live.

Sharing someone's intimate images without their consent causes real harm, and it's strictly prohibited on PlayHouse. One of the ways we stop it is our partnership with StopNCII.org.

What StopNCII.org is

StopNCII.org is a free tool that helps adults stop intimate images of themselves being shared online without their consent. It creates a hash of an image or video: a unique digital fingerprint. The hash is made on your own device, and the image itself is never uploaded. Only the hash is shared with partner platforms.

How PlayHouse uses it

  • Every upload is checked. Each photo and video uploaded to PlayHouse is checked against the StopNCII.org hashes before it goes live.
  • Old content is checked again. When new hashes are added, content already on PlayHouse is checked against them too.
  • Matches are stopped. A match is blocked or held back while our team reviews it.

When we confirm that content was shared without consent, we remove it and may act against the account, up to a permanent ban. See How does PlayHouse prevent non-consensual intimate images?

Protect your own images

  1. Go to StopNCII.org.
  2. Create a case and choose the images or videos you want to protect.
  3. Keep the case number, so you can check on or withdraw your case later.

StopNCII.org is for people aged 18 and over. If you're under 18, or were when the image was taken, use Take It Down, a free service from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. PlayHouse checks uploads against the Take It Down list too.

If your images are already on PlayHouse

A hash helps stop new uploads. To get something removed that's already here, report the post, or use Report Leaked Content or Impersonation in the menu. Our Trust & Safety team reviews every report, and nothing you send is shown to the accounts you name.
