How can I use StopNCII.org to protect my images?

StopNCII.org is a free tool that helps adults stop intimate images of themselves being shared online without their consent. PlayHouse is a partner platform, so we check uploads against its list.

How it works

StopNCII.org creates a hash of your image or video. A hash is a unique digital fingerprint. It's made on your device, and the image itself is never uploaded. Only the hash is shared with partner platforms like PlayHouse.

When someone tries to upload a photo or video to PlayHouse that matches your hash, it's blocked or held back for our team to review. Content already on PlayHouse is checked against new hashes too.

Create your hashes

  1. Go to StopNCII.org.
  2. Follow the steps to create a case and choose the images or videos you want to protect.
  3. Keep the case number they give you, so you can check on or withdraw your case later.

If you're under 18

StopNCII.org is for people aged 18 and over. If you're under 18, or were when the image was taken, use Take It Down, a free service from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. PlayHouse checks uploads against the Take It Down list too.

If your images are already on PlayHouse

Creating a hash helps stop new uploads. To get something removed that's already here, report it or use Report Leaked Content or Impersonation in the menu.
