How does PlayHouse fight child sexual abuse material?

Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is any image or video of sexually explicit conduct, including nudity, involving a person under 18. It is illegal and has no place on PlayHouse. PlayHouse is for adults only.

Before content goes live

Every photo and video uploaded to PlayHouse, including media sent in messages, is checked as it's uploaded:

  • Known-abuse lists. We compare each upload with industry hash lists of known CSAM, including Microsoft PhotoDNA and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's (NCMEC) Take It Down list.
  • Signs of a minor. Automated checks look for signs that someone in sexual content may be under 18. Anything flagged is held for review.

Content already on PlayHouse is checked again when the hash lists we receive are updated.

When something is flagged

  • The content is held and isn't shown to anyone.
  • On strong evidence, the account is suspended straight away and its earnings are held.
  • The original is preserved securely as evidence.
  • Only specially trained reviewers handle these cases, and they see a blurred version first.

When a reviewer confirms CSAM, we report it to NCMEC's CyberTipline, which shares reports with law enforcement around the world, and we act against the account. We cooperate with law enforcement investigations.

If you're under 18

If you're worried that a sexual image of you, taken when you were under 18, is being shared online, Take It Down from NCMEC can help stop it spreading. It's free and you don't have to share the image.

Report it

If you see anything that might be CSAM, report it straight away. You can also report directly to NCMEC's CyberTipline. Don't download, copy or share the material, even to report it.
