Are my messages private?
Your messages are shown only to you and the people you're talking to. They aren't public, and other fans and creators can't see them.
They are not end-to-end encrypted, though. That's deliberate: it lets us keep PlayHouse safe.
Who else can see messages
- Our safety team. Authorised safety and support staff can read conversations, including messages that were deleted, for example when they're investigating a report.
- A creator's agency. If a creator works with an agency, the agency's team members assigned to that creator can read and reply to messages on the creator's behalf. See What can agencies access?.
Media in messages is checked
Photos and videos sent in messages go through the same safety checks as posts before they're delivered. See How does content moderation work?.
Keeping yourself safe
- Never share passwords, sign-in codes or card details in a message.
- Keep payments on PlayHouse. Requests to pay elsewhere are against our rules and a common sign of a scam. See Off-platform payments.
- Block anyone you don't want to hear from. You can review blocked accounts under Blocked Users.
- If a message breaks our rules, report the sender's account.
For how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
