Respecting Your Privacy

Last updated October 2026

This page answers common questions about privacy on PlayHouse. It is a summary; our Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice give the full details.

Does PlayHouse sell my personal data or show me ads?

No. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising. There is no advertising on PlayHouse, and we don't use advertising pixels or cross-site tracking.

Why do I have to verify my age or identity?

PlayHouse is for adults only. Verification helps keep minors and people who haven't consented off PlayHouse, helps us meet our legal obligations, and helps prevent fraud.

  • Creators verify their identity with our identity verification provider: an ID document, a selfie and liveness check, a match between the two, and sanctions and watchlist screening. Creators must pass before they are approved and before any payout. Co-performers who sign a release form go through the same check.
  • Fans pass an age check before they can see paid or sensitive content, including media in direct messages. A credit card saved to your own account can be enough; otherwise our provider estimates your age from a selfie, with an ID check if the estimate is close to the threshold.

Before any face-based check, our provider shows you its own consent screen, and the check goes ahead only if you agree. We keep the results of these checks, not your face images or ID images, which our provider holds for us. Biometric data is destroyed once its purpose is met, and no later than three years after your last interaction with PlayHouse, unless the law requires longer. See Age and Identity Verification and the biometric data notice.

What personal data does PlayHouse collect?

The information you give us (such as your email address, username and profile, and for Creators, your name, date of birth, mobile number and payout details), the Content and messages you post and send, your purchases and wallet activity, verification results, and technical data such as your IP address, approximate location and device type. The Privacy Policy lists it by account type.

Who can see my information?

  • Anyone can see your public profile (username, display name, photos, bio and links) and any Content you make public.
  • Creators see who follows and subscribes to them, and what their Fans buy, tip and send them. If a Creator works with an Agency, the Creator's profile and chats show it, and the Agency's team can work in the Creator's account, including their chats.
  • Our service providers process data for us under contract, for example our cloud hosting provider (in the United States), our security and content-delivery providers, our payment processor, our identity verification provider, our analytics provider (hosted in the European Union), and the content safety tools we use, including automated image and video classification and Microsoft PhotoDNA.
  • Authorities: we report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as US law requires, and we respond to valid legal requests from law enforcement. See Assisting Law Enforcement.

Are my messages private?

Your messages are visible only to the people in the conversation (and, for a Creator who works with an Agency, that Agency's team), not to the public. They are encrypted in transit, but they are not end-to-end encrypted. That is deliberate: to keep PlayHouse safe, automated checks look at media and text in messages for illegal material, contact and payment details and prohibited terms, and our trained moderation team can review messages that are reported or flagged. Live streams and video calls are not recorded.

Does PlayHouse track me across the web?

No. We use analytics only to understand and improve PlayHouse. Analytics cookies are off until you choose Accept. If you decline, or your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we count visits anonymously without cookies. Even if you accept, our website never links your analytics to your account. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. See the Cookie Notice.

Does PlayHouse know where I am?

We work out your approximate location (such as your country and city) from your IP address, for security, fraud prevention, compliance with sanctions laws and analytics. We remove the IP address and approximate location from sign-in and activity records after 90 days, keeping only the country. We don't collect precise GPS location from your device.

How long do you keep my data?

For as long as your account is open, and after that only as long as we need it for legal, safety, fraud-prevention, tax and accounting purposes. Some data is removed sooner: for example, we strip IP address and location details from sign-in and activity records after 90 days. When you delete your account, your posts and stories are removed, your subscriptions are canceled, and we then delete or anonymize your data on a regular schedule, keeping only the records we are legally required or permitted to keep, such as payment records and safety evidence. The Privacy Policy gives the details.

How do I get a copy of my data or delete it?

To delete your account, go to Settings → Account → Delete account and confirm by email. Creators should withdraw their earnings first. For a copy of your data, use our legal request form, choose "Privacy or data", then "A copy of my data". You can also ask us to delete, correct or stop using your data in a particular way. Our privacy team handles each request, and we may need to confirm your identity first. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, explained in the Privacy Policy.

How do I stop emails from PlayHouse?

Marketing emails and emails about new posts and live streams from Creators you follow are on by default. You can turn each type off at any time in Settings → Email, or use the one-click unsubscribe link in every marketing email. You can manage push notifications in Settings → Notifications. We still send the service emails you need, such as sign-in codes, receipts and security notices.

How does PlayHouse protect my data?

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring. Access to personal data is limited to staff who need it, and safety cases are handled by a restricted, specially trained team. Card numbers are held by our payment processor, not by us, and we don't use passwords: you sign in with a one-time code, and you can add an authenticator app in Settings → Security. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee security, but we work to protect your data. To report a vulnerability, see Security Reporting.

Who do I contact with a privacy question?

Our Data Protection Officer and privacy team handle privacy questions. Use our legal request form and choose "Privacy or data". You can contact our EU and UK representatives through the same form. You can also write to Vallara, Inc., Attn: Data Protection Officer, 2261 Market Street #67575, San Francisco, CA 94114, United States.
