How does PlayHouse prevent non-consensual intimate images?

A non-consensual intimate image (NCII) is a sexually explicit image or video that was taken or shared without the consent of the person in it. That includes content made privately and never meant to be public. It is strictly prohibited on PlayHouse.

How we prevent it

  • Creators are accountable. Creators verify their identity before they're approved, and each creator is responsible for what they post. Posting explicit content of another person without their consent breaks our Terms of Service. See Featuring other people.
  • Matching against StopNCII.org. Every photo and video uploaded to PlayHouse is checked against the StopNCII.org list of hashes before it goes live. Content that was already posted is checked again when new hashes are added.
  • Reports. Anyone can report a post as an intimate image shared without consent. These reports go to a dedicated review.

What happens when content matches

When an upload matches a StopNCII.org hash, it's blocked or held back from view while our team reviews it. If content is already live when it matches, it's taken down until it's reviewed.

When we confirm that content is non-consensual, we remove it and may act against the account, up to a permanent ban. We can also add hashes of the confirmed content to the StopNCII.org list, so other partner platforms can block it too. Where appropriate, we work with law enforcement.
