Maximising your earnings: every way to earn on PlayHouse

Subscriptions are the base, but they're not the only income. Here's every way fans can pay you on PlayHouse, and how to use each one well.

Subscriptions give you steady income, but they're only one of the ways fans can pay you on PlayHouse. Creators who use several tend to earn more from the same audience. Here's each one, and when it works best.

Whichever you use, the platform fee is the same: you keep 85% of what fans pay, and PlayHouse's fee is 15%.

Subscriptions and bundles

A subscription gives fans ongoing access to your Subscribers posts. Offer a monthly plan, plus longer plans at a better price to reward fans who commit. A free trial or an introductory price on a plan helps new fans take the first step, and each offer has its own link to share. See How do free trials and introductory offers work?

Premium posts

A Premium post is something fans pay to unlock, even if they already subscribe. Add a preview so fans can see what they're getting. Premium posts work well for your most special content, without raising your subscription price for everyone.

Locked messages and bulk messages

You can send locked content in a chat, with a price and an optional preview. To reach many fans at once, send a bulk message to one or more of your lists, free or locked. Afterwards you can see its open rate, conversion and total income. See How do I send a bulk message?

Lists let you target exactly the right fans: your subscribers, people whose subscription has ended, or groups you build yourself.

Tips

Fans can tip you on your posts, in messages and during live streams. You can also request a tip in a message. A simple thank-you goes a long way. Automatic messages can send one for you whenever a fan subscribes or buys something.

Live streams

Go live for free to grow your audience, or set a ticket price for a paid stream. Fans can tip during any stream. Paid streams aren't recorded, so being there live is the point. If a paid stream doesn't go ahead, fans who bought a ticket are refunded.

Video calls

Set your weekly hours and a price for each call length, and fans can book one-to-one calls with you. You accept each booking yourself. See How do I set up paid video calls?

Custom requests

Fans can send you a request for something made just for them. You decide what you accept.

Refer other creators

When a new creator joins through your referral link, you earn a share of what their fans pay them for a year. PlayHouse pays your share, so it doesn't reduce what they earn. See How does the referral program work?

Use your Insights

Your Insights break your earnings down by source, so you can see which of these work best for you, and put your time there.
