PlayHouse (https://playhouse.fans) is owned and operated by Vallara, Inc. ("Vallara", "we", "us" or "our"). We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect Users to do the same. This policy explains how copyright owners can ask us to remove Content they believe infringes their copyright, how Users can respond, and how we handle repeat infringers. It is part of our Terms of Service.
This policy covers Content on PlayHouse only. If your PlayHouse Content has been copied to another website, see Helping Creators Protect Their Content.

1. Our approach to copyright
1.1 Vallara is a service provider under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. §512 (the "DMCA"). We respond to notices of claimed copyright infringement that meet the requirements of the DMCA, and we have designated an agent to receive them.
1.2 We may remove or disable access to any Content that is claimed to infringe copyright, or that we believe in good faith infringes copyright based on facts or circumstances we become aware of, whether or not we have received a notice.
1.3 The fastest way to send us a notice or counter-notice is the copyright takedown and counter-notice form. You do not need a PlayHouse account to use it.
2. How to submit a takedown notice
2.1 If you are a copyright owner, or are authorized to act for one, and you believe Content on PlayHouse infringes that copyright, send a written notice that includes all of the following (17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3)):
- a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or of a person authorized to act on the owner's behalf (typing your full name is an acceptable electronic signature);
- identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (or, if several works are covered by one notice, a representative list of them);
- identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough information for us to locate it. The link to each post or profile on PlayHouse is the most reliable way to do this;
- information that lets us contact you, such as your name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
- a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
2.2 Before you submit a notice, please consider whether the use could be a fair use or otherwise permitted by law. A notice that is incomplete may not be valid under the DMCA. If a notice does not meet every requirement but substantially identifies the work and the material and gives us a way to contact you, we will try to contact you to help you complete it.
2.3 Please submit notices in English, or include an English translation.
3. Our Designated Agent
3.1 Our Designated Agent to receive notices of claimed infringement under 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(2) is:
Copyright Agent
Vallara, Inc.
2261 Market Street, #67575
San Francisco, CA 94114
United States
Email: [email protected]
3.2 You can also send a notice or counter-notice online through the copyright takedown and counter-notice form, which goes to our Designated Agent and is the fastest way to reach us.
3.3 Our Designated Agent handles copyright notices and counter-notices only. Other messages sent to the Designated Agent will not receive a response. For help with your account, payments or subscriptions, use our help center contact form. For other legal matters, use our legal request form.
3.4 Unless we have agreed in writing in advance, our Designated Agent is not authorized to accept or waive service of legal process on behalf of Vallara.
4. What happens after you submit a notice
4.1 When we receive a notice that meets the DMCA's requirements, we will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the material identified.
4.2 We will take reasonable steps to promptly notify the User who posted the material that it has been removed or disabled, and tell them how to submit a counter-notice.
4.3 We may forward a copy of your notice, which may include your name and email address, to the User whose Content you reported, so that they can understand the claim and respond to it.
4.4 Removing Content because of a copyright notice does not by itself mean that the Content's buyers receive a refund.
5. How to submit a counter-notice
5.1 If your Content was removed or disabled because of a copyright notice, and you believe in good faith that this happened because of a mistake or because the material was misidentified, you may send a counter-notice. A counter-notice is a legal document. Consider seeking legal advice before you send one.
5.2 Your counter-notice must include all of the following (17 U.S.C. §512(g)(3)):
- your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is enough);
- identification of the material that was removed or to which access was disabled, and the location where it appeared before it was removed or disabled (the notice reference from the removal email, if you have it, helps us find it);
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material;
- your name, postal address and telephone number; and
- a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located or, if your address is outside the United States, for any judicial district in which Vallara may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice or that person's agent.
5.3 Send your counter-notice through the counter-notice form or to our Designated Agent using the contact details in section 3.
5.4 We will send a copy of your counter-notice, including your name, address, telephone number and email address, to the person who submitted the original notice.
6. What happens after a counter-notice
6.1 When we receive a counter-notice that meets the DMCA's requirements, we will promptly send a copy to the person who submitted the original notice and tell them that we will restore the removed material, or stop disabling access to it, in 10 business days.
6.2 We will restore the material, or stop disabling access to it, not less than 10 and not more than 14 business days after we receive the counter-notice, as 17 U.S.C. §512(g)(2)(C) provides, unless our Designated Agent first receives notice from the person who submitted the original notice that they have filed an action seeking a court order to restrain you from engaging in infringing activity relating to the material on PlayHouse.
6.3 We may decline to restore material that we have separately decided breaks our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy.
7. Repeat infringers
7.1 It is our policy, in appropriate circumstances, to terminate the accounts of Users who are repeat infringers.
7.2 We keep a record of the valid copyright notices we receive about each account, and our team reviews that record. In deciding whether an account should be terminated, we may consider the number of valid notices, how recent they are, whether any were withdrawn or successfully countered, and any other information we have about the account. We may also restrict or terminate an account after a single notice where the circumstances justify it.
7.3 If we terminate a Creator's account under this policy, our Terms of Service govern what happens to the account's earnings and subscriptions.
8. Misrepresentation and misuse
8.1 Under 17 U.S.C. §512(f), any person who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees.
8.2 We may refuse to act on notices from, and may restrict or terminate the accounts of, people who repeatedly submit notices or counter-notices that are false, abusive or made in bad faith.
9. Notices from outside the United States
9.1 You can report Content that you believe infringes your copyright under the law of the place where you are, including the European Union and the United Kingdom, through the same form.
9.2 If you are in the European Union, your notice should include an explanation of why you believe the Content infringes your rights, the exact link to it on PlayHouse, your name and email address, and a statement that you believe in good faith that the information in your notice is accurate and complete (Article 16 of the Digital Services Act). When you describe your copyrighted work on the form, please also explain why the Content infringes your rights.
9.3 We review notices from outside the United States under the law that applies to them. A counter-notice under section 5 is a procedure under US law. Users in the European Union may also be able to ask us to review a decision about their Content through our appeals process.
10. Other kinds of complaint
This policy is only for copyright claims. For other concerns:
- if intimate Content of you has been shared without your consent, use our intimate image removal form (no account needed) or, if you are signed in, Report leaked content or impersonation, which you can also use if someone is impersonating you. See Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery and Consent;
- for trademark and other legal claims, use our legal request form and choose "Legal inquiry";
- to report other Content that breaks our rules, use Report on the Content, or our help center contact form and choose "Report illegal or harmful content".
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date below.
