Helping Creators Protect Their Copyright

PlayHouse is dedicated to empowering creators and fostering a safe environment for them to share and monetize their content. We understand that content theft is a serious issue, and we have a dedicated team working to help creators protect their work.

Who Owns Content on PlayHouse?

Creators retain ownership of the content they post on PlayHouse. By posting, creators grant PlayHouse the right to display their content to their fans.

Tools for Protecting Your Content

PlayHouse offers a free digital watermarking service to all creators. Watermarks deter unauthorized use by making it harder to copy or use content without permission.

Reporting Copyright Infringements

If your content appears on another website without your permission, PlayHouse can help. Report copyright issues through our dedicated form here, and we will investigate promptly. Our team issues formal takedown notices on behalf of creators under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) free of charge. Even if you are outside the USA, your content is protected under international copyright laws. We notify websites, hosting services, domain registrars, and major search engines when we find stolen content.

Additional Protective Measures

PlayHouse actively scans the internet to identify platforms hosting stolen content from our creators. We contact these companies and request immediate removal of infringing content.

Legal Options for Creators
  • US-based Creators: In addition to DMCA notices and lawsuits, the CASE Act allows creators seeking less than US$30,000 in compensation to file a claim with the Copyright Claims Board for a $100 fee.
  • UK-based Creators: The Intellectual Property and Enterprise Small Claims court allows claims for under £10,000 in compensation.
  • EU-based Creators: The European Union has a small claims court for cross-border claims within the EU. The Digital Services Act will soon require sites to remove infringing material from EU-based websites upon creator request.
Content Posted Without Your Permission on PlayHouse

If your content appears on PlayHouse without your permission, or if you appear in content posted without your consent, please report it through our dedicated form here. We will review the evidence and remove any content posted without consent. We may also take action against the person who posted it. Disputes regarding consent that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to a neutral arbitrator at our expense.

Content Removal Disputes

If you believe your content was wrongly removed for copyright infringement, follow our DMCA Counter-Notification Procedures.

Fans and Content Ownership

Fans pay to view content or messages, but they do not own the content. Pay-per-view content is available until viewing is complete, and downloading content from PlayHouse is prohibited. Copying content from PlayHouse is a breach of our Terms of Service.
