Does PlayHouse's Subscription Model Enable the Distribution of Hate Speech, Discriminatory, or Threatening Behavior?

No. PlayHouse's subscription model makes it more difficult for people to create and distribute material that could be considered hate speech, discriminatory, or threatening. Our subscription model prevents material from "going viral." No one can post anonymously on PlayHouse. To subscribe to content or post content on PlayHouse, users need to pass our strict identity verification checks. Unlike many other digital media platforms, this means PlayHouse knows the legal identity of all our users. Because our users are not anonymous, and PlayHouse does not have end-to-end encryption, PlayHouse users are less likely to try to create or distribute hate speech, discriminatory, or threatening material on PlayHouse.

How Can PlayHouse Tell if Content Contains Hate Speech?

PlayHouse does not use end-to-end encryption. Everything on the site, including direct messages, is visible to our team of trained reviewers.

PlayHouse continuously scans our platform to prevent the posting of content that violates our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy and investigates any reports of suspected hate speech, discrimination, or threats. PlayHouse also relies on community reporting and has reporting mechanisms available on every post, message, image, and video. PlayHouse can remove any post, message, image, or video shared on PlayHouse at any time.

What Happens When PlayHouse Finds These Types of Abuse on Its Platform?

When PlayHouse identifies or someone reports suspected hate speech or discriminatory or threatening behavior, PlayHouse immediately removes the content from public view and investigates the report. If there has been a violation of PlayHouse's Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy, PlayHouse takes appropriate action, such as issuing a warning, account suspension, or account termination.

How Can PlayHouse Tell if a Direct Message or Other Private Post Contains These Types of Abuse?

PlayHouse does not use end-to-end encryption. Everything on the site, including direct messages, is visible to our team of trained reviewers. There are no "hidden" posts, "secret" areas, or disappearing messages on PlayHouse. PlayHouse can review and remove any post, message, image, or video shared on the PlayHouse platform at any time.
