Why can't I subscribe to a creator?

Work through these checks in order. The message shown under the Subscribe button usually tells you which one applies.

  1. Are you signed in? If not, selecting Subscribe asks for your email address and sends you a 6-digit code.
  2. Have you confirmed you're 18 or over? You need to do this once before you can subscribe. Only credit cards can confirm your age. If you have a debit or prepaid card, take a quick selfie instead. See Why am I asked to confirm I'm 18?.
  3. Do you have a card? Subscriptions are charged to a card, not your wallet. Under Pay with, select Add a card. See How do I add a card?.
  4. Was the card declined? If you see Your card was declined. Try another card., your bank refused the payment. Your bank may also ask you to confirm it. See What should I do if my payment fails? and What is 3D Secure?.
  5. Are you already subscribed? If you see You're already subscribed., go to Profile and select Subscriptions.
  6. Is the creator taking subscriptions? Subscriptions aren't open yet. or This creator isn't taking subscriptions right now. means there's no plan you can join at the moment.
  7. Was it an offer? This offer isn't available to you any more. means you can't use that free trial or introductory price, for example because you've had it before. You can still subscribe at the regular price.
  8. Is a payment still being confirmed? If you see that a payment is still being confirmed, wait a few minutes before you try again, so you aren't charged twice.
  9. Is your account active? If you see Your account isn't active, contact us.
  10. Can you open the creator's page at all? If not, see Why can't I open a creator's page?.

If none of these explains it, contact us, choose Subscriptions or purchases, and include the creator's username and what you saw on screen.
