Why am I asked to confirm I'm 18?
PlayHouse is for adults only. Before you can subscribe, unlock a paid post, buy VIP messages, watch a livestream, open photos or videos in messages or see posts marked as sensitive, we ask you to confirm that you're 18 or over. Nothing behind the age check is available until you've passed it. You only do this once: it stays on your account.
Ways to confirm
When you see Confirm you're 18 or over, choose one:
- Use a credit card. We check the card with your bank. You aren't charged, and the card is saved so you can pay with it later. Only credit cards can confirm your age. Debit and prepaid cards can't, though you can still pay with them. A card that has already been used to verify other accounts can't be used again.
- Take a quick selfie. It takes about a minute, with our identity verification provider. Look at the camera and follow the prompts. Some people are also asked for a photo ID.
If you already have a credit card saved, we may check it automatically, so you might not see this step at all.
When it works, you'll see You're verified.
If it doesn't work
- We're checking your verification: some checks go to our team, and if the selfie can't tell clearly, we may ask for a photo ID. This usually takes a few minutes, and you can keep browsing.
- We couldn't confirm your age: if the check can't confirm you're 18 or over, we email you, sensitive content stays off, and you can't subscribe, unlock content, or buy VIP messages or tickets. A failed check doesn't by itself suspend your account: select Try another way to try again, or contact us if you think this is wrong.
- Age verification is unavailable: try again in a few minutes.
Creators
Creators complete a full identity check when they join, and that also confirms their age. See How do I get verified as a creator?.
Your privacy
Our identity verification provider runs the selfie check for us, and shows you its own consent screen before it starts. Our Privacy Policy explains what we keep, and our Age and Identity Verification page explains how age checks work.
