Why was my creator application declined?
Most declines happen because our verification provider couldn't confirm your identity from that attempt.
Common reasons
- The photo of your ID was blurred, cropped, too dark, partly covered or caught in glare.
- The ID was expired, damaged or not a government-issued photo ID.
- The live selfie didn't match the photo on your ID, or couldn't be completed, for example in poor light or with your face covered.
- The name or date of birth you entered doesn't match your ID. Use your legal first and last name.
- You're under 18. Creators must be 18 or older.
Try again
- Open your onboarding page.
- Choose Try again.
- Use a valid ID in good light, with the whole document in view, and follow the selfie prompts.
You can only make a limited number of attempts in a short period. If you can't try again, or you keep being declined, contact us and choose Being a creator as the topic.
Your profile photo
Your profile photo is checked separately from your identity. It must be safe for work. If you see "This photo can't be used on PlayHouse," choose a different one. An AI-generated profile picture is fine, but the identity check always needs a real selfie.
If your account was closed
If your account was deactivated and you think that's a mistake, you can appeal the decision.
