How do I appeal a decision?
If you think we got a decision wrong, you can ask us to look again. How you appeal depends on what the decision was about.
A decision about your account
Use this if your account was deactivated, suspended or restricted.
- Go to the account appeal form.
- Enter the Username of the account, your Full name and your Email.
- Under Your appeal, explain which account or content was affected, when it happened, and why you think it followed our Terms and Acceptable Use Policy.
- Select Send appeal.
A person reviews every appeal and replies by email. We may ask you for more information.
A decision about a post or other content
Use this if a post, story, message or other content was removed, restricted or given a warning.
- Open the link in the email we sent you about the decision.
- Under Why should this decision be reviewed?, explain in your own words. Include anything the reviewer should know, for example that you're the person shown.
- Send your appeal.
A different member of the moderation team reviews it, and we email you the outcome. You can have one open appeal per decision, and the page shows where it's up to.
What happens next
- Overturned: we reverse the decision, and restore the content if it was removed.
- Upheld: the original decision stands.
Some decisions can't be appealed, including confirmed child sexual abuse material and confirmed non-consensual intimate imagery.
Read our appeals policy for the full rules, including time limits.
