How does content moderation work for creators?
Everything you upload to PlayHouse is checked automatically as it's uploaded. That covers posts, stories, reels, messages, your vault, your profile media and custom orders.
What can happen to your content
- Goes live. Most content passes the checks and publishes normally.
- Marked sensitive. Content with nudity is marked sensitive. It stays on PlayHouse, but people only see it once they're signed in and have chosen to view sensitive content.
- Held for review. Some content is held while our team looks at it.
If our team decides a post breaks the rules, they can:
- remove it;
- restrict it, which keeps it live but marks it sensitive;
- give you a warning and leave it up.
You'll get a notice each time, with a link to appeal. Serious or repeated breaches can lead to your account being suspended.
Common reasons content is removed
Our Terms of Service set out what isn't allowed. Content is most often removed because it features someone who hasn't been verified as 18 or over, or doesn't have every participant's consent and verification. See Featuring other people and Nudity rules.
If you think we got it wrong
Use the appeal link in your notice, or go to /appeal. A different member of staff from the one who made the decision reviews it. See How to appeal a decision.
If your content was removed after a copyright (DMCA) notice, the notice links to a counter-notice instead, which you can file with the counter-notice form.
