Preventing Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking

Last updated October 2026

PlayHouse has zero tolerance for modern slavery, human trafficking and sexual exploitation, on our platform, in our partnerships and in our supply chain. Every Creator on PlayHouse must be an adult who has chosen to be here, controls their own account and is paid their own earnings.

We respect internationally recognized human rights, as set out in the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Our Anti-Slavery and Anti-Trafficking Statement describes the steps we take across our business.

What are modern slavery and human trafficking?

Modern slavery is the severe exploitation of a person for someone else's personal or commercial gain, where the person cannot refuse or leave because of threats, violence, coercion, deception or abuse of power. It includes forced labor, debt bondage, servitude and human trafficking.

Human trafficking is the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of a person through force, fraud, coercion or deception in order to exploit them. Sex trafficking includes causing an adult to engage in a commercial sex act through force, fraud or coercion, and causing anyone under 18 to do so by any means.

These are serious crimes under US federal law (including 18 U.S.C. §1591 and, for online platforms, the law known as FOSTA-SESTA, 18 U.S.C. §2421A), the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, and the laws of nearly every country.

What do our rules prohibit?

Our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy prohibit using PlayHouse to promote or facilitate:

  • sex trafficking, forced labor or any other exploitation;
  • escort services, prostitution or any other sale of in-person sexual services, and in-person meetings arranged through PlayHouse;
  • any Content involving a person under 18, or any person who has not consented;
  • explicit or nude Content showing anyone who is not a verified PlayHouse Creator, unless that person has completed our co-performer release form, which verifies their age and identity and records their consent.

You must not sell, rent, transfer or share your account. Every Creator is personally responsible for their account and Content, and having an agent, manager or Agency help with an account does not change that.

How do we verify Creators?

Before a Creator account is approved, the Creator must:

  • give their first and last name, date of birth (they must be at least 18), country and mobile number; and
  • pass identity verification with our identity verification provider: an identity document check, a liveness check, a face match between a live selfie and the document, and screening against sanctions, politically exposed persons and other watchlists.

Verification must be completed before any payout, and earnings are paid only to a bank account in the Creator's own name. See Age and Identity Verification.

How do we protect Creators who work with Agencies?

A Creator can choose to link their account to an Agency. Every Agency must pass our business verification before we approve it, and an Agency works only through its own Agency console, so it never needs a Creator's sign-in details. A Creator should never share their sign-in code with anyone, and an Agency must never ask for it.

A linked Agency can help with a Creator's work, such as messages, posts, subscription plans and offers, and insights. It cannot change the Creator's own settings, including:

  • the Creator's security and sign-in settings and email address;
  • the Creator's payout details and identity information;
  • the Creator's notification settings and blocked list.

An Agency's commission is a percentage agreed between the Agency and the Creator. PlayHouse's platform fee, the Creator's earnings and the Agency's commission are recorded as separate transactions, and an Agency can withdraw only its own commission, never any part of the Creator's earnings. Profiles and chats that an Agency helps to manage are marked so that Fans can see it, and Agency team members must never claim to be the Creator personally. See our Agency Terms.

How do we look for signs of exploitation?

Exploitation can be hard to see. We combine automated checks with reports from our community and review by our trust and safety team:

  • Every upload is checked before it is published, including with an automated estimate of the apparent age of the people shown. See Combating Child Sexual Abuse Material.
  • Automated text rules check messages, captions and profile text for terms associated with escort services and other prohibited activity, and for attempts to move people or payments off PlayHouse, such as phone numbers, messaging handles and payment details. Matches are held or sent for review.
  • Our reviewers act on reports, and can review messages and media at any time: PlayHouse does not use end-to-end encryption.

Signs that may indicate exploitation include:

  • someone other than the Creator appearing to control the account, the Content or the conversation;
  • a Creator who appears frightened, coerced or scripted, or who cannot speak for themselves;
  • requests or offers to meet in person, or to pay someone other than the Creator;
  • signs that a person shown may be under 18 or did not consent;
  • a person appearing in explicit or nude Content who is neither a verified PlayHouse Creator nor covered by a completed release form.

How do I report it?

If you are worried that someone on PlayHouse is being exploited, or is under 18:

  • use Report on the post, profile, story, comment, message, conversation, livestream or video call; or
  • if you are not signed in, use our contact form, choose Report illegal or harmful content, and tell us the username and what you saw.

Every report opens a case for our team. If you are a Creator and someone is controlling your account or your money, or forcing you to create Content, contact us through our contact form and tell us what is happening.

If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number.

What happens when we find it?

We may remove Content, freeze the account (so it cannot be used and its earnings are held), ban the people responsible, and report what we have found to law enforcement and, where a child may be involved, to NCMEC. We respond to valid legal process from law enforcement; see Assisting Law Enforcement.
