How do I become a creator?
Anyone 18 or older can apply to be a creator. You keep 85% of what you earn; PlayHouse charges a 15% platform fee. See How much of my earnings do I keep?
If you're new to PlayHouse
- Go to playhouse.fans/creators/join.
- Enter your email and choose Continue with email.
- Enter the 6-digit code we email you and choose Continue. Your account is created.
- Carry on with the creator details below.
If you already have a fan account
Sign in with the same email, open Profile, then choose Become a creator under For creators. You can also go straight to playhouse.fans/creators/join while signed in. Your fan account becomes a creator account, so you keep your subscriptions and purchases.
Add your details
You'll be asked for:
- a Profile photo (no nudity);
- a Username: 3 to 20 letters, numbers or underscores. It becomes your page address, playhouse.fans/yourname;
- your First name and Last name, as they appear on your ID;
- your Date of birth; and
- your Mobile number.
Then choose Continue. Fans don't see your legal name. They see the display name you choose next.
Verify your identity
Next comes a one-time identity check, done in your browser with our identity verification provider. You'll photograph your ID and take a short selfie so we can match the two; we also run standard sanctions screening.
- Choose Verify now.
- Have your photo ID ready and follow the prompts. Keep the page open until you're done.
While the check runs, build your profile: add a display name, bio and photo, then choose Save profile.
- Checking your verification: your result usually arrives within a few minutes. Refresh the page to see it.
- Verification in review: we're looking at it and will email you when it's done.
- Verification wasn't approved: check that your ID is valid and clearly visible, then choose Try again. See How do I get verified as a creator?
Creator approval is automated once your check passes. Fans can subscribe as soon as you're verified. You add your bank details later, when you make your first withdrawal.
